Illinois
students age 9 to 14 will compete on 64 teams. Students received the FLL challenge in early September and will bring
their robots to the competition ready for action. Teams consisting of 4-10 children plus
an adult coach are supplied with a problem that requires them to create a
programmed LEGO robot capable of implementing their unique solution to
successfully complete 2009/10 FIRST LEGO
League Challenge - "SMART MOVES."
In addition, each team is required to research and design a solution to a
problem related to the challenge. The results of their work culminate in a
10-minute presentation delivered in front of a judging panel.
